Not so sure anymore...

Watched "Marley & Me" last night....Not a good movie to watch if your thinking about giving your dog away. For now, I think we may just keep him. Ugh! Why does he have to love us so much???

When Pearl was really small we talked about giving our dogs away too. It's so hard with little babies, but now that she can walk around it has been so fun. She loves to play with them, and they are so good with her. You can always change your mind again, but things might be different once Oliver starts walking.

So I feel your pain with the dog issue. After we had Joshua, I felt so terrible neglecting tucker. SO when Joshua was 8 months, we got Tucker a friend, Nala. Talk about a BAD idea. It was crazy. I had a baby and trying to train a new puppy. SO after 4 months, I had to get rid of her and just appreciated Tucker he was almost 3 and very well trained. I had to accept that I couldn't do more and he just adjusted. I love him and he went from my-spoiled-house-dog, to only sit on the wood- house dog, to garage-and-backyard dog. It's just the way it goes. We still love him and take him for walks and to the dog park now and then. But he's a dog. And it was hard for me to accept that at first. I felt awful, but I have kids now.
Joshua just loves him and now Elianna stares at him. Tucker just let joshua play and sit on him. I'm glad we kept him, but sometimes I wish for a smaller dog.
Good luck, I know it is hard.

OH, poor Moose. My life has been 5 times easier since we got rid of our dogs, but it was so hard to do it. Either way, life will work out!

I felt that same way cuz we watched Marly and Me 2 nights ago. I thought of Spencer and how sad he'd be if Brody were gone. What have I done even getting him a dog in the first place???

I have to agree with your friend Stacey above. Having kids makes having dogs harder, but when they start walking around and can play with the dogs, they love it. It's another play mate for them. We had two dogs and then had two kids and our kids just love our dogs. Once Oliver gets older you can start giving a little more attention to Moose again. But you have to choose what's right for your little family.
