Hill-Billy Time

While the New York Veigel's were in town, we were able to get together with some of the Allred cousins for some summer fun. The Welch's were nice to have us all up to play on their slip and slide. The kids loved it and so did many of the adults. Luke always loves having someone to play with...Oliver too.
Unfortunately, The only pictures I took were of the kids going down the slide. I know there is a picture of all the cousins floating around somewhere out there...

4th of July Celebrations

This year for the 4th of July we had a great weekend. We had an impromptu firework show in front of our house. Some people from my family and a few neighbors showed up.

The following day we had dinner at the Veigel home. Jake and Becky and their kids were visiting so we took that as an opportunity to all get together.

Later on we headed over to our cul-de-sac of fire. Luke somehow always ends up lighting the show and I must say that he does a pretty good job. The ending of the show is always the best thanks to the aerial fireworks. They were pretty awesome.
the 4th of July is always one of those easy and perfect holidays. I love the warm nights, the good company and the freedoms to do so.

Another Weekend

Friday night we went out to dinner with Jensen's. Thanks Trent for inviting us.
For dessert we headed over to Nielsons for some Custard. Nom nom!

Later that night, the girls, Oliver and I were having too much fun, so we invited them over for the night. These kids would not go to bed. Eventually they fell asleep...long after Luke and I did, I'm sure.

My brother and his neighborhood were having yard sales the next morning. We had a couple of things we wanted to sell so we walked over. There were 5 yard sales on their street and at just about each one, they were selling soda, sweets and Popsicles. The kids were loving it. They even bought a few little treasures for themselves.

Before heading to Olivers soccer game, we hit up this corn dog place in Kaysville (320 N Flint St, Kaysville, UT) that I had heard about. For 5 dollars you get a foot long corn dog and a soda. It was AWE.SOME!

Summer nights are the best in our neighborhood because at any given moment, there is some family out that you can go hang with. We usually assemble here and it's one of our favorite things to do.

Sunday's after church you can always find us snacking outside for lunch. Usually it's chips and salsa. This time we added cheese dip to the mix.

The rest of our Sunday was spent hanging out together as a family. I love watching these tow together.

Another great weekend. Love summer!

Best Day of School

Well the last day of school finally came. I think the students and the teachers were very ready for this. This year we were put into a "new" classroom with construction taking place inside our very class room. It was awful and very distracting to say the least.

Other than the noise, it was a great school year. It was a little chaotic at times, but I love being able to work along side these 3. We just mesh well. With a cleaned up and empty classroom, we locked up and headed out.

For Lunch we tried Sapa's Sushi and it was delicious! I loved the atmosphere, the food and of course the company. Going anywhere with Alema is always a special treat as he always has us laughing.
Thank you Alema, Lindsay and Karen for allowing me to work alongside you, being there for me and mostly, putting up with me. Love you guys.

Dinner Done Right

I made dinner last night for me and Luke. It was pretty awesome because first, I never make dinner and second, it turned out to be one of the best dinners. I realized later that it was a total carb overload, but who's counting? Certainly not us.

I made Pesto chicken and served it over noodles, Potato rounds. I somewhat came up with this on my own, but I think this recipe is about the same. Green salad with my new favorite dressing, Spicy Ranch and some french Bread. To top it off, I had a delicious caffeine free coke. It was perfect and I loved having dinner just the two of us. (Oliver was at Gma Holly night).

Book Clubbing

Book club is one of my favorite nights of the month. We all meet {usually} at Tracey's house, bring something delicious to share, discuss the book and spend the rest of the time laughing and talking. It really is the best.

Above. They had no idea I was taking pictures. It looks like eating grapes is serious business.

Below. They actually knew I was taking these pictures...Amy's twerking, Lindsay's chicken dance and Kim's posing.

Love these ladies. Really, they are some of the best people I know.

Let me give you a hand...

...err, I mean foot.

This is the way Oliver brushes his teeth around here. He is just slightly too short to reach the bathroom sink, so I have to give him a little boost.

He really could just grab the stool we have for him, but he likes this way much better.
