Saturday

This Saturday after all of our chores were completed, we didn't have anything to do and since the weather was so nice, we didn't want it to go to waste. On a whim, we decided to take a drive up to Pine View reservoir. It was so much fun to stop at the lake and hang out for a little while. We didn't really have any plans as to what we were going to do once we got up there, but it all turned out to be a perfect little get away for a few hours.

Before heading out, we got a cheap 3 dollar lunch from Costco. Gotta love Costco for that!

Moose had so much fun playing "fetch" with Luke. He was a little scared to go into the deeper water at first, but by the time we were ready to go he was doing a lot better.

We tested out the water and it was surprisingly nice. Oliver liked this until he got splashed in the face. If you look closely, you can see his mad face.

Me: Loving it.
Oliver: Not so sure.

All that's missing in this picture is Moose...and maybe a happy face from Oliver...

NOW TESTIFY!!

I told Jake a long time ago that I would post this. SO, here goes...

Back in March when Jake came to visit, we got together to play a little bit of Rock Band. (Thank you Cade) Jake outshone all of us with his killer performance of Rage Against The Machines "Testify".

Here's a sample...

Just a peain'

The nutritional value of peas is amazing when you think about how much is really packed in a just one small cup. One cup contains more protein than a tablespoon of peanut butter and also provides calcium, Vitamin A and C and Iron too. And for this reason, Luke and I planted them to feed to our chuck.

We woke up on a Saturday morning and an hour and a half later had our own baby food ready to go. Here are the pictures...

Picking the peas.
At this point I was racing to pick as many as I could. Luke already was on his second bag and mine was only half full. For those of you that know me I am very competitive and I will race with anything....even if the other person doesn't know it.

Taking a break to marvel at the peas.

Shelling

Boiling, pureeing and spooning the mixture into ice treys and containers.

Check out Oliver eyeing the stuff.

And the taste test. I'm happy to report that he really likes it. It would have been a waste if he didn't. Luke and I would have had to eat mush for a few meals.

MEXICO PICS

Here are some pictures I took. Enjoy!

TOP 10 THINGS I LEARNED WHILE ON MY TRIP IN MEXICO

10. I can hail a cab pretty well.

9. You never really seem to lose that sticky feeling due to the hot humid weather.

8. Cold drinks are never cold enough.

7. "Agua" is not really water. When someone would ask me if I wanted "agua", I'd get juice instead.

6. Washing your clothes by hand gets your clothes so much cleaner...not that I'm going to start doing that or anything.

5. I am a giant in Mexico and everyone likes to stare at the "gringa".

4. You tend to fall in love with the place and especially the people more so then the previous time you were there.

3. You end up walking around more then you think.

2. Mexican food is so much better when in Mexico.

AND THE #1 THING I LEARNED WHILE IN MEXICO...

1. No matter what, you'll get the runs every time you visit.

With your music now distantly flowing through my ears, the taste of the food nearly forgotten, and only the memories of those whom I deeply love and miss in printed in my heart, I will miss you my Mexico and hope to see you again someday.

more to come...
