The par-tay!

Oliver's party was something that kept getting pushed back further and further, so Luke and I finally buckled down and picked a {late} date. September 19th.

We decided on a simple party which included

A Pinata...

Presents...
We also had cake and ice cream but only have video of that. We loved having a small party with our families. They are so good to Oliver and he loves them all very much. Thanks for coming out to Celebrate!

Here is Oliver playing with a couple of his gifts. He even requested to sleep with his new gifts...Whatever you say Birthday Boy!

"I'm Fwee"

OLIVER TURNS THREE!!!!

We have been talking to Oliver about his Birthday for a few weeks now and he hasn't showed much excitement (That could be because we have been telling him that he's going to be 3 so he needs to go on the potty...I'm sure that terrifies him and therefor so does being 3).

I really wanted him to understand that Birthday's are a big deal and should be celebrated and exciting so I decided to spoil him today.

First on the list...Junk for breakfast!

I asked Oliver what he wanted for breakfast and he said a cinnamon roll. You've got it Birthday Boy!

Then, before Luke went to work, he gave Oliver his birthday present...

Super Hero's!

Oliver loved them and could even name them all...Iron Man, Hulk, Thor & Captain America.

I asked Oliver what he wanted to do today and he said "Go to the Zooooo!!" He's been wanting to go to the zoo all week.

Wendy, Kat and Jack came along with us. The animals were so active today, the weather was perfect, we rode on the train, bought a "Zoo Poo" book (for potty training purposes of course) and a mini giraffe for Jack and mini Elephant for O, AND had such a good time.

After being treated to lunch at Wendy's and taking a nap, we went out again.

This time...A movie.

This was Oliver's first time ever going to see a movie at the Movie Theater. I wasn't sure how he would do, but he did pretty good. Sadly, we didn't have a good choice of movie anywhere so we settled for "Zoo Keeper" at the dollar theater...thinking this would have him hooked. Eh, it wasn't great for his age and towards the end he just wanted to go play the games that he saw out in the foyer, BUT we made it through.

Oh! AND he literally ate half the bucket of popcorn. Seriously, he had more than I did.

As soon as the movie was over, Oliver asked me if it was time for the games.

Heck yeah it was!

He had to make sure he went from one game to the next testing out the equipment and making sure to kill the monsters. He loved this.

When we finally made it home and when we did, we found a nice surprise waiting for Oliver at our door.

A Happy Birthday Balloon and M&M's from Aubry (Or "Bobwy" as Oliver likes to call her)

He LOVED it and was all smiles. After getting ready for bed, I told him he could wait up until Dad got home before he had to go to bed. Of course he had to get his super hero's, blanket, balloons and M&M's.

When Dad got home, we tucked him in with his hero's and called it a {long} day.

I don't know what I may have done to be blessed with such an incredible child like Oliver. He means the world to me and makes me look at life in a whole new light. He makes me smile everyday and helps me to love more than I thought possible. These past three years have gone by in what seems a blink of an eye and it feels like it was just yesterday when I was holding this precious gift in my arms for the first time.

Oliver, we love love LOVE you. You are seriously the most rad boy around.

Happy Birthday!

SLFM

One of the many things that we love about summer time is going to the Farmers Market in Salt Lake. We hadn't gone all summer until this weekend which actually turned out to be pretty good because it wasn't too crowded and the weather was nice. We had some delicious local lunch, saw a bazillion dogs...Oliver loved that, got O the coolest balloon motercycle, Watched some drumming and enjoyed seeing what people were selling.

Happy Birthday, Baker Boys!

Tonight we went to Kade and Spencer's combined Birthday Party.

The theme:

Grafitti/Tag Party!

What better way to finish off the night by making sure they were the ones that got tagged all over.

Thank you Jonny and Taleesha for having us over to celebrate these awesome boys!

Salt Lake Half Marathon- Relay Edition

Ever heard of the Salt Lake Half Marathon Relay? Well I hadn't until Brooke and I were looking for a race to sign up for after we had finished the Deseret News races. We thought we would try to get Amy to do this one with us and to our surprise, she said okay. We even bought shirts to match Brooke's and our official name was 2 Runners and a Wimp {Brooke came up with it}.BUT, after Amy ran her impressive {real} half Marathon, she was out with a stress fracture. Lame injuries!

Luckily, we got Heidi to run with us, and unlucky for her, she got dealt the crap card when we found out that her 4 mile run, was 95% uphill. We even thought we were being nice by not giving her the long run, but did this stop her from kicking serious butt? Nope. I was up next and to be honest, was pretty nervous since I had been getting {stomach} sick a lot lately, but as I ran, I felt awesome! My run was downhill for 5.70 miles and although my legs were getting tired, I ran my best finishing in 49:22.Yeeah! Brooke was up next and also did amazingly. No WIMPS here. Seriously, I don't know why, but Jensen's can run!

We ended with a time of 2:14:48 and placed 12th overall and 3rd for the female division. Not bad eh? I had so much fun running this race and enjoyed the cooler weather in the mountains with a couple of my fellow {upcoming} Ragnar Vegas teammates. Only 46 more days...but, really, who's counting???

Happy {transition into fall} Month!

I love that we are back to the month of September. Good things tend to happen in September, so in order to celebrate a new month, I thought I'd post one of my latest favorite recipes...

Enjoy!

Yellow Zucchini Bread

Ingredients

3 1/2 Cups of All Purpose Flour

1 1/2 Teaspoons Salt

1 Teaspoon on Ground Nutmeg

2 Teaspoon Baking Soda

1 Teaspoon Ground Cinnamon

3 Cups Sugar

1 Cup Vegetable oil

4 Eggs

1/3 Cup Water

2 Cups Grated Zucchini (yellow or green)

1 Teaspoon Lemon Juice

1 Cup Chopped Pecans or walnuts (Optional)

Directions

Preheat oven to 350 Degrees F. In a large bowl, combine flour, salt, nutmeg, baking soda, cinnamon and sugar. In a separate bowl, combine eggs, oil, water, zucchini, and lemon juice. Mix wet ingredients into dry and fold in nuts. Bake in loaf pans of your choice, sprayed with (a generous amount of) non-stick spray in the oven for 45 minutes or until tester comes out clean. (for mini loaves, I cook for 45 min. For regular sized loaves, I kept them in for 1 hour).

Unfortunately, I don't have a picture of the finished product. We devour this yummy goodness as soon as we can get our hands on it.

Happy Happy September!
