10 Month old Twins

Somebody pinch me. I must be dreaming because I can not believe that these babies are really 10 months old. Seriously, when did this happen? These babies are just a dream. I think I say that every time, but they really are the best. They have no issues sleeping. In fact they don't really even cry when I put them down for naps or for bed. They just know that that is the drill and they go with it. They eat pretty good although Briony has issues with textures and Milo seems uninterested, but other than that they eat well...obviously, look at them.

Briony.
She is our spitfire. She is very vocal and will let you know if she disapproves of anything. She is so strong willed and stubborn and I love it. I was thinking the other day about when she was in utero and how she was small. The doctors worried about her size and were watching her closely to make sure that she was growing and that things were okay. They were. And then when she was born and we found out that this stubborn baby was actually a girl, it all made sense. And when she was born at only 4 pounds 14 ounces and didn't spend a single day in the NICU, I got it. She is our strong willed fighter and I just love that so much about her. I hope she always has that trait and she uses it for good. Even though she is our fire cracker, she is still the sweetest. She will rest her head on you and snuggle up to you...of course on her terms but she does this and its one of my favorites. She loves to hear her voice especially her high pitched shrills of joy. She will scream and clench her fists and hold her arms straight in front of her and wait for you to scream back at her before she smiles and does it all over again. She loves to be on the ground rolling and army crawling all over the place. She tends to want to play with anything but toys and loves to get into the video game cupboard and pull out the controller cords. She falls asleep sucking on a blanket. Doesn't matter which one. She laughs any time we play peek a boo with her and she is so ticklish around her color bone and her arm pits. She lights up whenever someone she knows walks into the room but she will let you know if it's okay to pick her up or not. Man I love this little Bee.

 Milo.
I have never met a boy as sweet as Milo. Just thinking about his sweet little demeanor makes me melt. When you see him he usually has a somber appearance, but really is just waiting to smile at you and love you. He laughs at anything. You could be tickling him or just making a strange sound at him and he will full on belly laugh. We call him our giggle boy for a good reason. While his sister is happy crawling circles around him, Milo is perfectly happy laying on the floor playing with one toy and thumping his feet in delight. He is starting to become more active just in the last days and also scooting around all over. Milo is our little sleeper just like Oliver. Many times I will go in to get them (because I hear Briony squawking) and he is still just snuggled up sleeping away. He has this amazing hair that I never want to cut (remind me of my dad's) and is so squishy and super easy to love on. Whenever we are in the car he will start to "sing". This is usually the only time he does this. We recently gave him a binki to play with and he has really started to like that binki. Better keep it away before he becomes addicted to it. Milo LOVES when Oliver plays with him. He gets so excited whenever Oliver spends lime with him. I bet in his eyes, Oliver could do no wrong. Oh Milo. You and just a dream.

These tow together are just so fun to watch. They have started to take things from each other and interact more and it's so fun to see. When they take things from each other, neither seem to mind. They just move onto the next toy until the other comes and takes that one away. They occasionally still look for the others hand to hold like they did when they were younger. I pray that these two will be the closest of friends and always be there for each other. They have a special bond being twins and I am so blessed to call them mine.

Thanksgiving in Wyoming

There is something I just love about going out of town for a Holiday. In this case I love driving up to Wyoming through the snow covered mountains, meeting family at the Pizza Hut for a late dinner, hanging out in out Jammies with cousins, watching movies and getting toasty. It's like we're in our own movie and that soundtrack would be a good one filled with Amy laughing, Oakley singing, The Boys (including Luke) burping, Trent thinking (out loud) and Paige, Morgan and babies squealing. It was the best.

When we got there, Grandma Holly and Grandpa Larry were there waiting for us. It's great to make it safe and sound and even better to have parents that look out for you.
The first thing Oliver did was Snuggle up with Grandma. It was so cute, but once he saw me pull out the phone to take a picture, it was game over.

Shortly after, The Jensen's showed up. And that's when the party started. I mean who doesn't want to jump and slide around the living room in sleeping bags?

And then it was Thanksgiving morning.
We had 8 people show up for our Biennial Gobble Gallop. Fortunately this years temperatures were bearable and the race was very enjoyable.

Our finishing pictures.

And how lucky was I to get speedy Amy to run with me. We even stopped on Main street to snap this photo in front of the worlds largest Elk Antler Arch.

Crazy leggings and Ice Patched roads.
I've gotta get out there and start running more. This was the first race where I actually had to walk a few times. Poor Amy getting stuck with the slow poke.
 The group. Plus Bernard.
So much fun to get together and burn a few calories before indulging is so much good food.

While we waited for the grand dinner, The kids all played outside in the snow on the snowmobiles. They were so much fun to watch...and throw snowball at.
The sweetest thing I heard was that before The Jensen's left to go up to WY, Andrew ran back in the house to go get a helmet for Oliver so that he could also play on the snowmobiles with them. Love that Andrew and how he takes care of our boy.

Now these are some good looking "Lumbersexuals"? Some of my favorite people right there.
You wouldn't believe the energy it took to take this picture, but I think it tuned out pretty perfect. Matching coats and all.

They were playing dead. I don't know who's on the left, but I laugh every time I see it because it doesn't look like there is a body in all those baggy clothes.
Oakley would have been out there all day if her parents would have let her. She was rocking it on that mini snowmobile going off jumps and everything.
And what better way to warm up from being out in the snow than having some delicious Maverick hot chocolate.

Then the festivities began. This year was probably my most favorite year. The food was so good. A whole table full of pies (Which I didn't have a single piece until I got home later that night), So many great cousins to hang out with and of course playing Basketball, Dodgeball and Football are always a highlight.
I especially love this picture of our kids with Pom Pom. Briony's sad face is so funny, but really, how cute is Pom Pom. 91 years old and looking fantastic.

We headed home that same night and arrived safe and sound. It was a great Thanksgiving with so many things to be thankful for.

You've gotta have friends...and sometimes work.

I work with some good ones so it was a no brainer to have Amy join our team. Can you imagine what work is like with this group. I'll tell ya, It's awesome. I just wish I could hang out...err work with them every day instead of just once a week.
These are just a few of our lunch pictures...

 Jimmy Johns

 Vito's
We laugh to tears many times while at work. I really love these people.

And we often show up to work wearing the same things. Our students think we are so weird.

NACHOOOOO NIGHT

We love a good reason to party and I'm so glad that my friends do too. Our good friends, Cindy and AJ hosted a Nacho Night where we go over, have some nachos and watch Nacho Libre.

Preparing my re-fried beans and Horchata.
It was so much fun and who doesn't love a good old Mexican party?
 ARRRIBAAA!!

Celebrating Wendy

I was so excited to throw this baby shower for my sister. I began prepping for it for weeks.
Luckily she wasn't picky about what she wanted so I did whatever I wanted to on the planning.

I went all out making banners, chalk painting everything and making sure to get every detail just right.

I have to admit that we had the best food spread. My sisters and mom sure pulled through for me.

So excited to put up this welcome sign for Wendy and Baby.

Wendy had such a great turn out. It was so touching to see all those people there that loved her.

And they were so generous. She received so many sweet gifts. It was so nice to see that outpouring of love.

She was so cute sitting there with her big belly opening gifts. I really am so excited for their family having this baby. They have been through a lot in the past losing their last baby and so I was so so happy to see her happy and excited. She sure deserves it.
See, I was happy.
(My cousin secretly took this picture of me)
Speaking of my cousin, It was the first time I got to meet her little boy. I hadn't met him in his 4 months of life.
Obviously we had to put these three together.

And Lastly
Wendy and I were remembering when we were younger and how we accidentally took the funniest photo without realizing. It looked a little something like this...about 12 years ago.
I love you Wendy! So excited for you and your family.

Adventure Time Costumes

This year for Halloween Oliver wanted to dress up as Finn on Adventure time. We thought, Heck yeah! an easy costume. And then he told us that he wanted all of us to be adventure time characters. Okay, so here you have it...
Oliver as Finn
Briony as BMO
Milo as Jake the Dog
Luke as the Ice King
and I am Princess Bubblegum

The only thing we had to buy for Oliver's costume was his hat.
For my costume I bought the wig from amazon, The leggings from a local store and the dress from the DI. Everything else were things that I already had.
And for Mr. Ice King. We just borrowed a graduation gown from a friend and the only think I had to buy was his wig/beard.
My sister made Milo's hat and I found this weird bird costume at the DI that was perfect for a soggy dog Like Jake. Briony's dress was made by my talented friend and I just put her in some black tights. It was perfect.

I didn't think I would love dressing up as this, But in the end I loved how it all came together. We got so many compliments (by those that actually know Adventure time) and it really was one of our best costumes ever.
