The Garden

Watching our garden grow has been one of the highlights of the summer...I know it sounds like we are a bunch of old people, but it really is pretty fun and rewarding. It all started last summer when my mother-in-law wanted to plant some tomatoes in our garden. Ever since I've been hooked and this year Luke and I decided what to plant. So far this year we have gotten about 7 zucchini, 8 cucumbers, 1 tomatillo and 1 pepper. We are just waiting for those tomatoes to ripen up and then we'll have gobs and gobs of tomatoes. Anyone want some?

There are no words to be said other then I love this picture because its so funny.

The view of the rapidly growing garden

I have been waiting for these cherry tomatoes to ripen up for so long. The other day I had 5 and they were amazing! Cant wait for more.

Our cucumbers. The best way to eat these are peeled and sliced with fresh lime juice and salt!

Our huge pumpkin patch! It's hard to see but we have a pumpkin in there. I don't even know what to compare it to because it's getting really big. It's bigger then any sports ball that I can think of. We're really hoping that it makes it for Halloween!

Painting

So, one of the things that we did this weekend was work on the babies room. We thought that it would be a good idea in helping us feel more prepared since we have so much to do. So, we plugged in the old CD player, Turned up the volume and painted away to some Phantom of the Opera, Frank Sinatra and the Best of Queen.

The color looks sort of ugly in the pictures. It's much different in person and is more red then what you see here. We really loved how it turned out.

To my surprise I actually enjoyed painting this time around. I just cant wait now to get carpet and then to be able to set up the rest of the room and decorate.

I'M FREAKIN OUT!

I never thought I would be one to panic out being pregnant, but I am suddenly totally freaking out!!! It all started when I held Cade and Emilys new born, Avery a couple of weeks ago. I felt as though I was about to drop her and like I didn't have a clue as how to hold a new born, which is something that I have done so many times. My stomach turns every time I think about being completely responsible for the well being of a child and everything that I will have to do in order to maintain a good and healthy life for it. I always thought that I would be completely prepared to take on parenting, however these last couple of weeks have been somewhat difficult now that all these fears are surfacing. You would think that one of my biggest fears would be Luke and how he'll react around the baby, but that has never crossed my mind, In fact I think he's somewhat more prepared then I am and I know he'll be such an amazing dad and have so much fun with a mini-me/us. I guess only having 9 more weeks would freak most people out so I'm hoping this is pretty normal...someone please tell me it's normal! Anyway, with that being said here are my stats...This is day number 216 and I'm 30 weeks pregnant!I have 64 days or 9 weeks left, and I am 77.1% of the way there. Baby's age since conception is 202 days or 28 weeks.

Bear Lake Adventures

Well, this weekend went great. I don't think anyone got sick of anyone and we had a lot of fun.

Here are just a few random pictures of the family camping...

This is my dad with his Moses staff.

My mom attempting to go out on the canoe. She was a bit shaky, but she did a good job.

Roasting the mellows with the kids and eating s'mores.

My boys napping on the beach after a long day of playing in the water. Moose was exhausted by the end of each day.

Our bellies! Mine is finally bigger then Lukes.

Here I am with my sister in law Taleesha and my 2 sisters Wendy and Phia.

These are my nephews Kade and Ethan playing on the beach. I don't know how that little boy could move in such a huge life jacket. The funniest part about those life jackets is the strap that secures right up the crotch. Makes me laugh every time.

Luke and Moose playing. Moose loved playing fetch with the ball.

My nephew Spencer and I roasting starbursts. One of my favorite things to roast in the camp fire. All the kids thought this was such a fun idea so they pulled out all their candy and started roasting gummy bears and I think the next morning they even wanted to roast their Lucky Charms.

Bakers in Bear lake?

So, tomorrow the whole Baker bunch is about to head up north to the beautiful Bear Lake for a few days of camping, playing in the water and what we hope is good weather. Lets cross our fingers and hope that it's a great camping experience...

Pool Parties and BBQ's

This past weekend was busy and full of outdoor fun. First we went to a pool/Volleyball/BBQ party. It was a lot of fun and the food was really good. Luke and I enjoyed some really good bratwurst and I think I ate about a whole watermelon.

Luke jumping off the diving board. Everyone was playing "PIG" and they had some pretty good tricks up their sleeves.

Kassidy and Luke teaming up for the alley-oop.

Unfortunately we had to leave this party early but only to attend another party. My Niece Mekenzie turned 10 on the 14th but they did her party a little early which was also fun to go to.

My nephew Tayten and me pulling some faces. This kid is quite the character and always has me laughing...

Singing to the birthday girl. Happy Birthday Mekenzie!

Butter Fingers

I have been trying to learn this song on the guitar for about a week now and it is just not happening. My fingers wont play what they are supposed to. I think I might give up on the guitar and take up the drumstick with the bells on it and the plastic cowbell like the guy in the video (we gotta have more cowbell). But I would probably mess that up too I cant keep a beat very well either. Just ask Kimmy. Im sure I will get it someday.

4th of July weekend

For the 4th of July weekend we didn't really have any plans or really think that we'd do anything, but we ended up doing alot and it was so much fun.

This was at the Eaglewood golf course. Thanks to Cade we got a VIP parking spot and the fireworks were even pretty good.

We went to the golf course with our Friends Kassidy, Brittney and their cute little Xeah (sp?).

Our poor attempt at getting a really good picture with the fireworks in the back.

More Fireworks. I love seeing the blast of fireworks while listening to the cheesy old American songs that every park seems to play and then smelling the aftermath of the smoke.

On Saturday we spent the day with our other Friends Ryan, Karina, Kamryn and Preston. We enjoyed some time at the pool and then went back to their house so that the guys could have some Halo playing time. We also enjoyed the Culdisack of fire which occurs every 4th of July in our neighborhood where the show was exceptionally good this year. We hung out with my family at a BBQ and we even had time to work on our house a bit. All in all this 4th of July weekend went pretty well.

Week 28/40

This is day number 199 and I'm 28 weeks pregnant! I have 81 days or 12 weeks left, and I am 71.1% of the way there. Baby's age since conception is 185 days or 26 weeks. My baby is equivalent to the weight of a Chinese cabbage (whatever that is) but I guess it's 2 and a quarter lbs. CAN YOU BELIEVE IT??!! Last night it really hit me when Luke said that I could have the baby next month. I don't know if I'm going to be ready, but there's no way around it. I guess I just have to be.
