Football Camps

Remember how I work with awesome people? Well, one of the teachers also runs football camps around here, Texas and in Hawaii. Check it out here. He also has friends that run camps all over the place like in Vegas. One of the students that he mentored back in the day, Lauvale Sape, went on to play for the NFL and he also has buddies that have or currently play in the NFL. He has been putting on a camp for the past 2 years down in Vegas that we got to go help out at. Check out his camp here.

Of course I got to hang out with these 2 whom I love. So much fun with them.

We even found some Big League Chew.

Since there were a lot of NFL players there they all lined up and signed all the kids shirts and posters. It was cool to see the kids get so excited for this.
Edwin Mulitalo who played for the Ravens for 10 seasons and won a championship ring was there. He let us have a little fun with his ring.

That ring was the biggest ring I had ever seen and he wore it on his pinkie!

I loved learning all about the Polynesian cultures, mainly the Samoan culture. Very cool.

Check out this cute 6 year old. He came up to my chin no lie and we called him Mini Alema.

When we weren't at the camp, we relaxed most of the time...

Here.

And most importantly ate here. My one and only request of the trip.
I love me some Raising Canes.
We also had some awesome oysters...my first time ever, ate at CPK and Panera and stopped in St. G for some Benjas and The Sweet Tooth Fairy.

On our way home we got stuck in some major traffic just outside of Cedar City. We later learned that it was due to the fires. We moved 1.5 miles in 3 hours.
We kept ourselves entertained and even went for a stroll along I-15.

Finally when the freeway opened up, we were so surprised to see just how bad the fires were. It was like a battle field. These pictures just don't show how bad and scary it really was.

All in all it was pretty awesome to experience these camps and to see all the hard work that goes into creating such awesome events.

EQ Outing

Luke is the 1st counselor in the EQ...coming up on a year now. Wow time flies. The Quorum decided to put on a little camp out at Luke's Aunt and Uncle's house up by Logan. We were so excited that they chose to invite the families to come along on the little outing. Last year we went up to the Welch home for a family reunion and had such an amazing time, so we were so excited to be able to do it again and thought that we would have a pretty good turnout.

Turns out that Pres. Meyer's family and ours were the only ones that were able to make it. Seriously???

We still had so much fun making dinner and hanging out talking late into the night. We really couldn't believe that no one came that night and hoped for a better turnout in the morning.

In the morning we slowly woke up and got ready for the day. We got ready for the huge breakfast we planned for, but again the crowds did not show. Who was going to eat the 10 dozen eggs, bag of Krusteez and pounds of bacon? Luckily we had a ward member and his son show up, but other than that, that was it.

Again, we still had fun and played hard on the huge water slide.

After a delicious lunch from the Welchs', we packed up and headed home. It was such a fun little getaway with the family and a few friends. A huge thank you to Lawrence and Lisa for having us over.

Father's Day

This past Father's Day was a very quiet one around here. Not much was exchanged as far as gifts go, but I hope Luke knows just how much we love him and I hope our Dad's know how much we love them.

At church today I got really emotional in Sunday School thinking about my own dad and the many life lessons that he taught me. My Dad lead such an amazing life and I miss him terribly. Many of my most spiritual experiences have been because of him and his good influence in my life.

I couldn't help but also thing about Luke's dad and the amazing influence that he has on not only Luke, but on me as well. I always thank my Heavenly Father for both of our dad's. I am so so blessed to have Larry to look up to as a Father figure now that my dad is no longer with us.

But back to Luke...

Luke has always been so sweet with Oliver. From the day he was born to now he has always been a good example and Dad to him. I love watching those 2 together. They do so much and whenever I see them in their bonding moment, It just melts my heart a little and I feel so grateful that I have married such a wonderful man. Really, not everyone can say that their babies daddy is pretty awesome.  For Him I am grateful. Oliver resembles Luke in so many ways. Not only in his appearance but in his actions as well. They both love to tease me yet they both make me feel so special and always loved. We are both still learning how to be parents with every stage in Oliver's life and I am so lucky that I picked Luke to share this parenting experience with.

Thank you, Luke, for being such a good Dad.

gross grub

Ever made a terrible dinner that made you so mad you just had to laugh so you wouldn't cry? That was our experience the other day. We thought cooking some chicken over the fire would be so good. Luke wrapped his chicken with bacon and I had mine plain...let me tell you, don't do that unless you want to eat dry gray chalky chicken. I also tried to cook some spinach ravioli. Let's just say that the chicken tasted way better.

Good thing I had frozen burritos in the freezer...and Halloween paper plates.

Birthday Britt

Dont you just love it when you have a friend that has a birthday and it gives you an excuse to go out with some girlfriend for dinner? Well that is just what we did Saturday night. Some of us haven't seen Brittany in months since she and her family decided to abandon us, so it was nice to catch up over dinner.
Look at how delicious our food looks. We hit up Stoneground in Salt Lake.

We managed to get a self portrate of the group...which I'm not sure how we did with my big head in the way. Just look at those blue eyed beauts.
Julie loved riding in the back seat with her imaginary man.

And a huge HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Britt!

Thanks for giving us a reason to get together.

8K

Crack of Dawn 8K

My sister and I did this race this past weekend and I loved it. She really had to talk me into it because I was so worried about doing an actual race again. I got a way better time (46:10) than I had thought I'd get being that I have been out of the racing/running world for over 6 months. This is just what I needed to get back into the swing of things. Thanks Wend!

Schooool's OUT FOR SUMMER!

This is what our classroom looked like on the last day of school. We had to pack up the entire classroom in preperation for the renovations taking place.

Like I have said before, I am so lucky to have these three to work with and that they chose me to be a part of the LC crew. The only sad thing about summer vacation, is not being able to see these guys Monday thru Friday.

Until next school year.
