Jensens

This past weekend, I was able to take care of the Jensen kids while their parent headed to Sunny St. George to run. We made sure to pack this weekend with as much as we could so that we would all have a good time.

To start, we had the boys soccer games. It was so much fun to watch these boys play and to cheer for them in the stand. I love going to sporting events and I can't wait until I get to go to these things to watch Oliver.

Luke being the genius and fun uncle that he is, set up an American Gladiator course in the play room for the kids. We all got in on the fun and this is what we played most of the weekend.
Look at these tough gladiators!
For dinner one of the nights, we took them the The Pizza Pie Cafe. They loved it! They all ate really well and we didn't hear one of them complain. Aiden even ended up eating three plates of spaghetti.
We did a little bowling. The kids did great and they were dancing the whole time. The people in the next lane were so impressed with the kids dancing skills, they even complimented them. And who doesn't love some black light/loud music bowling.
Since they didn't have school on Monday we headed to the empty school to go sledding. We would sled from the very top of the hill and sled all the way down so that we would hit the building. It was awesome. We lasted a couple hours.

After staying up late watching movies every night, these kids were exhausted. In Church that Sunday, these boys were out.

And after a long even filled weekend, I was happy to have my sister-wife back home. I see now why Trent and Amy has been blessed with all these kids. Very few people could do what they do and do it as well as they can. I am grateful for these kids, they are like my own and I'm so happy that I can be a part of their lives.

Chop Shop

I have been wanting to change my long hair for a while now. I tried dreadlocks, colored my hair to give it the Obre look, I dyed it back to look natural and when I got bored with that, I decided to cut it all off. Why not?

So I booked my appointment, took in my little picture of the idea of hair I wanted and sat there for 2 hours as this guy snipped away 2 feet of hair.

In the end, the guy said my hair was too dense for the haircut I wanted, so he cut it a bit different, but it was fine. Not my fave, but fine.

The strangest part about cutting my hair was showering. I kept reaching for hair I thought was there and I put way too much shampoo in my hand. I also had to adjust to bracing myself for Luke to lay on my hair when he rolled over at night or when he would go to rest his arm on the middle compartment in the car with my hair resting there. It's been nice to not have to find long hair everywhere I go and to cut hair washing time in half. It's also fun to just change things up.

I'm already thinking of my next hair do.

New Years Day 2013

Today was a very low key day. After getting to sleep in and bum around the house, we decided to take Oliver to see a Wreck-It-Ralph. Oliver and me loved it. Luke liked it, but was hoping to have the characters jump around between video games more.

Hope this year bring many exciting and great things for our family. So far, it's off to a great start.

Bring it on 2013

So happy to have headed down to St. George to bring in the new year like we have been doing for the past 5 years.

As usual, we stop at the gas station to get special traveling treats a long the way. Funyuns have always been my traveling chip and now that love has been passed down to Oliver. "Funyuns are awesome!"
I have really dropped the ball when it's come to taking pictures ever since I got my new phone with a decent camera. These were all the pictures I was able to take.

This year we were looking forward to putting puzzles together. I think in total we assembled three 1000 piece puzzles. It was actually so much fun to work on these throughout the course of the trip.

We loved playing the dance game and Holly was nice enough to play with the grand kids. She's got moves!
Amy I broke away from the groups to spend a little time in Vegas. The main reason was to eat at Raising Canes. It was fantastic and we even had a mini photo shoot afterwards. Oh and we did some shopping, but really not all that much.

We loved being down there to ring in the new year, but when a home emergency came up, we had to cut our trip short and head home on new years eve to be with family.

When we got home is was snowing and we were hungry so we headed to Jason Deli for our new years eve celebration dinner. My brother was having a new years eve party so we decided to go to that since we didn't have any plans.
We played some volleyball and dodge ball and with one minute left of 2012, we ran outside to scream and shout and kiss and welcome 2013!

It was a wonderful end to 2012 and a happy welcome to 2013.
