Muddy

For the longest time, we have talked about running in a race with some of our best friends, Ryan and Karina. This past weekend, we finally did it.

We started our meal prep by eating at The Cheesecake Factory followed by Leather bees.
For those of you that don't know, Luke is the ice cream king. He can (and sometimes does) east ice cream every single night and he never gets sick of it. Me, I occasionally will want some ice cream, but it's not my favorite dessert. Anyway, when he saw the huge banana split on the menu, he had to have it. I helped with maybe half a ball of ice cream but he put the rest of it away on his own.

Next time, I think I'll just eat a bowl of that caramel sauce. Holy smokes that stuff is Amazing!
Luke and I had never done a mud run before so we were excited about this run.

The before pic

Love Karina. We have been through some great times together.

This race was more challenging than I thought it would be. We climbed over walls, through tunnels, ran up and down hills, rope climbed, monkey barred (?), and laughed our way through it. It was so much fun and I can't wait to do another one with these guys!

I couldn't believe how muddy we were. It was in and on everything!

Jackson Hole, WY

Farewell Jackson. One of these days we will have to go back up and visit with you a little longer.

Aunt Tami

In loving memory of Tami C Veigel Budge. 1947-2016

Tamara C Veigel Budge, age 68, passed away of natural causes on 17 March 2016 at her home in Cody Wyoming.  She is the oldest child and only daughter of Doyle E. and Maxine C. Veigel.  Tami grew up in Afton Wyoming where she attended Afton Elementary, Star Valley Junior High and graduated from Star Valley High School in 1965.  She attended the University of Wyoming and later became a licensed Realtor and Broker.  She loved Jackson and spent most of her life there working in real estate as well as managing several properties.  She moved to Cody in 2002 where she continued to manage property.  Her career in real estate spanned over 30 years.  She was a member of the Elks Club and F.O.E.  Tami cherished the friends she had in both Jackson and Cody. She had a passion for landscaping, home decorating and antiques.  Tami was formerly married to James O. Budge and is the mother of two children, Brian James Budge and Sherri Budge Hansen.  She loved spending time with them and her two grandchildren Ashleigh Hansen and Alex Hansen.  She has two brothers Larry D. Veigel (Holly) and Randall T Veigel (Valerie).  She was preceded in death by her parents and her favorite four-legged friends Buster and Molly.

The Museum House

For Aunt Tami's life celebration, we went up to Jackson hole. One of her friends hosted a luncheon at her home. This home was very peculiar which is why we names it the museum house. It was completely full of western odds and ends, random body parts hanging out of furniture and some really cool antiques. Every time we went in to see all the displays, we found something new to look at.  It was bizarre, yet really entertaining.
I couldn't get enough of this place. Milo was just happy to be with Cade. Luke found a portrait of a long lost relative and we played can-you-spot-the-real-people-in-the-room game.
There was even a breastfeeding mannequin. Have you ever seen an actual breastfeeding mannequin?
Despite the unexpected loss of Aunt Tami, it's still nice to get together as a family and laugh.

Spire to Spire Fun Run

While we were in Star Valley, we found out that there was going to be a fun run out by where they are building the new Star Valley Temple. We were so excited that we were in town for this so those that wanted to, woke up early and headed out to run.

Amy, her girls and I were getting ready to run the 1K. While Luke was out there running the 5K.
I stayed behind a little to run with Paige...that and I didn't really bring any running shoes.
We couldn't believe how many people showed up to the race. Boys girls, moms dads, and grandparents. It was pretty fun to see the community come together.

We were very surprised that we even received these metals and that they put on a full breakfast. All for free! How cool is that?
We love Star Valley and can't wait for the completion of another temple.

Up to the Geyser

We Headed up to Wyoming this weekend to attend aunt Tami's Funeral. We decided to go up a couple days earlier to make it a little more exciting for the kids.

Today we went on a little hike up to Swift Creek where the geyser is. I was very impressed by how fast the river was flowing. A little scary with so many kids, but it was pretty awesome to see that roaring river.

Briony has been sticking her tongue out in photos lately, so I decided to join her. Love her spunk!

Love taking these little kids with us....but I can't wait for the day when we don't have to carry an additional thirty pounds on our backs.
Grandma Holly with the grandkids. She is the best!
(Also, I think Oliver is about to sneeze)
Playing once we got up to the geyser. The water was so high that the geyser was completely full and therefor not going off like it normally does.

Who is that kid going crazy in the background???
If you happen to be in Afton, Wyoming and want to breathe in that fresh mountain scent but not have to hike in five miles to get it, I highly recommend Swift Creek!
